- Steig, William. Abel's Island. A mouse lives for a year in the wilderness
until his wit and courage take him back home.
- Wilder, Laura Ingalls. The Little House series. Documents the life
of the author and her husband a century ago.
- Wyss, Johann. Swiss Family Robinson. The adventures of a Swiss family
shipwrecked on a desert island.
